Who is responsible
The person responsible for the site and for processing the data is Mariano Pérez. For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
What data is processed and why
- Measuring visits
- The site loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-F885NEJERY). Analytics sets cookies to count visits and understand how the site is used, for example which pages are viewed most. To do so, Google processes your IP address.
- Preferences in your browser
- The site stores two preferences in your browser’s local storage (localStorage): the light or dark theme and the time zone you chose. They stay on your device and are not sent to our server.
- Technical logs
- When you visit the site, the server and Cloudflare process technical data such as your IP address and user agent, which shows the browser and system you use. This is used for the security and operation of the site.
- Emails you send us
- If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply to you.
Cookies and local storage
| Name | Type | Used by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Cookie | Google Analytics | Distinguish visitors to measure traffic |
| _ga_* | Cookie | Google Analytics | Keep the state of the measurement session |
| Theme | Local storage | F1PODIO | Remember whether you prefer light or dark mode |
| Time zone | Local storage | F1PODIO | Show times in the zone you chose |
If you clear the site’s data in your browser, the preferences go back to their defaults.
Who the data is shared with
- Receives the measurement data through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics and processes it under its own policies.
- Hetzner
- Hosts the site’s server, which is managed with Laravel Forge.
- Cloudflare
- Delivers the content (CDN) and protects the site.
- Open-Meteo
- Provides the weather forecast. Requests are made from our server, not from your browser, so Open-Meteo does not receive your IP address.
Some of these providers may process data outside your country. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
How long data is kept
Preferences stored in your browser stay there until you delete them. Google Analytics data is kept according to that service’s settings. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for the security and operation of the site.
How to opt out of Google Analytics
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on provided by Google.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Use a content blocker or your browser’s tracking protection.
The site keeps working if you block these cookies.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you these rights:
- Access: find out what data about you is processed.
- Rectification: ask for it to be corrected if it is wrong.
- Erasure: ask for it to be deleted.
- Objection: object to it being processed.
- Complaint: lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.
To exercise them, write to [email protected].
